Bridging the Gap
Bridging the Gap is an ESOL mentoring program that aims to prepare ESOL students for FCAT while in a social setting. Spanish Club members along with students in Spanish, French, and Chinese courses participate as mentors for the program and are responsible for assisting the ESOL students with understanding FCAT reading passages and answering comprehension questions. The goal for the program is that the ESOL students will not only achieve in preparing
for the FCAT, but they will also learn to become confident with speaking in
English. This will ultimately allow the students to be able to successfully
interact and communicate with students outside of the program and prepare them
for the future in relation to school and future careers.
How can I volunteer as a mentor for the program?
You can talk to the President (Kailey Fischer) during a Spanish Club meeting or email her at [email protected].
